The Burn-O-Meter checklist, specifically designed for National Fire Safety Week, seeks to help Finns to gain familiarity with fire safety issues and to aid them to understand how to act in case of a fire. The Burn-O-Meter checklist can be reviewed and entrants reported under the following categories: homes, housing cooperatives, work places, schools, and kindergartens.
Those who complete the Burn-O-Meter checklist, approve the rules of the lottery draw and provide their contact information will participate in a lottery draw for one (1 pc) Duracell Firefighter Bunny and four (4 pcs) Ötökkä (‘Bug’) fire alarms.
Participation in the draw requires that the entrants complete the Burn-O-Meter checklist and submit their contact information at paloturvallisuusviikko.fi/en/burnometer. Participation in lottery draws will be open until 31 December 2017. The winners will be drawn on 19th January 2018.
All natural persons living in Finland are eligible to enter the competition (the signature of a parent or guardian is required for entrants under the age of 18). Persons who have participated in the preparations of the draw or the immediate family members and/or persons living in the same household are not eligible to enter the draw.
Winners will be notified by email. If a winner cannot be reached within two weeks of the draw, the organisers have the right to draw a new winner. The contact information of entrants will not be used for any purpose other than notification of the winners and delivery of prizes. The prizes will be delivered to Finnish addresses only.
The draw organiser’s responsibility with regard to the participants cannot exceed the value or amount of the prize mentioned in these official terms and conditions under any circumstances. The winner of the prize shall relieve the organiser of all responsibilities that may result or may be claimed to have resulted from participation in this draw, redemption of the prize, or the use thereof. The organiser reserves the right to amend these rules and terminate the draw at any time. Such amendments will enter into effect on the day of publication of the notification.
The draw is organised by National Fire Safety Week Steering Group with representation from The Finnish National Rescue Association, the Ministry of the Interior, the Chimney Sweep Businesses Central Association, Rescue Services, The Finnish Association of Fire Chiefs, Finance Finland, the Rescue Associations, EHYT Finnish Association for Substance Abuse Prevention, the Finnish Real Estate Federation, and the Finnish Home Owners’ Association. National Fire Safety Week is funded by the Fire Protection Fund.
