The Burn-O-Meter, specifically designed for National Fire Safety Week, seeks to help Finns to gain familiarity with fire safety issues and to aid them to understand how to act in case of a fire.
Those individuals who complete the Burn-O-Meter, approve the rules of the lottery draw and provide their contact information will participate in a lottery draw for one fire safe Samsung 55″ QLED TV (value app. 1 300 €)
Those individiuals who enter the Day at the Fire Station event and leave feedback on website, are able to participate on lottery for a flaming red Jopo bicycle and a helmet (value app. 349 €)
Participation in the draw requires that the entrants complete the Burn-O-Meter and submit their contact information at paloturvallisuusviikko.fi/en/burnometer. Participation in lottery draws will be open until 31 December 2018. The winners will be drawn on 19th January 2019.
All natural persons living in Finland are eligible to enter the competition (the signature of a parent or guardian is required for entrants under the age of 18). Persons who have participated in the preparations of the draw or the immediate family members and/or persons living in the same household are not eligible to enter the draw.
Winners will be notified by email. If a winner cannot be reached within two weeks of the draw, the organisers have the right to draw a new winner. The contact information of entrants will not be used for any purpose other than notification of the winners and delivery of prizes. The prizes will be delivered to Finnish addresses only.
The draw organiser’s responsibility with regard to the participants cannot exceed the value or amount of the prize mentioned in these official terms and conditions under any circumstances. The winner of the prize shall relieve the organiser of all responsibilities that may result or may be claimed to have resulted from participation in this draw, redemption of the prize, or the use thereof. The organiser reserves the right to amend these rules and terminate the draw at any time. Such amendments will enter into effect on the day of publication of the notification.
The draw is organised by National Fire Safety Week Steering Group with representation from The Finnish National Rescue Association, the Ministry of the Interior, the Chimney Sweep Businesses Central Association, Rescue Services, The Finnish Association of Fire Chiefs, Finance Finland, the Rescue Associations, EHYT Finnish Association for Substance Abuse Prevention, the Finnish Real Estate Federation, and the Finnish Home Owners’ Association. National Fire Safety Week is funded by the Fire Protection Fund.

Intended use of personal data
The personal data will be used for communication, regarding a competition, between Fire Safety Week and the User. By participating in the competition, the User agrees to be informed of any winnings.
Description of the group of data subjects
The personal register contains personal data on the natural persons registered as Users of the Fire Safety Week online service.
Information content of the register
The personal register includes the following information:
• The person’s first and last name
• Email address
Data will not be disclosed outside the Fire Safety Week campaign.
Sources of data subject to regulations:
The register contains only data provided by the User him or herself.
Statutory handovers and transfers of data outside the EU or the European Economic Area
Data will not be transferred or handed over outside the EU or the European Economic Area.
Data protection principles of the register
The controller’s information system and files are protected using the technical protection methods normally used in an enterprise. To access the register, users require a personal username and password, which is only granted to those of the controller’s staff to whose status and duties the right of access is related. Access control is carried out on the premises of the data controller.
Rights of the data subject: right to inspect and right to object
In accordance with Section 26 and Section 30 of the Personal Data Act, the data subject has the right to inspect their data and the right to object to its processing for direct or indirect marketing, and for market and opinion surveys.
Requests related to the right of inspection and the right to object to data processing must be submitted to The Finnish National Rescue Association. Further information and instructions on exercising the right to inspect and/or to object can also be requested from the person responsible for register-related matters.
